ADMIRE SURGICAL ‘s Gorney Rake Retractor – Spring Neck is a modified version of the common Freeman Rake Retractor. A Gorney Rake Retractor, also known as a Gorney retractor, is a surgical instrument used in various medical procedures to hold back tissues or organs to provide access and visibility to the surgical site.
Gorney Rake Retractor typically features a handle at one end and multiple rake-like prongs or blades at the other end. The prongs are designed to gently hold and retract tissues or organs during surgery.
The Rake Retractor contains sharp prongs, but its shorter length and thumb hook is designed for controlled retraction of a specific area of skin. Therefore, it is very useful in narrow operating areas. Also, the thumb hook allows the surgeon to control the retraction angle as well as extent.
The spring neck of the retractor gives extreme flexibility to the instrument as well as to operators, therefore, it could be easily used in difficult to retract areas.
Moreover, the hooks offer multiple prongs. This allows surgeons to retract heavy as well as delicate tissues. Additionally, the Gorney Rake Retractor – Spring Neck working end has a concave curve for reaching deep cavities. The prongs are usually shaped like small rakes or hooks, which are designed to securely hold tissues without causing excessive trauma.
Lastly, we manufacture all our Retractors & Dissectors from premium quality stainless steel that allows easy sterilization and reliable reuse of instruments.
